Project 3
For project 3, I have decided to focus on the preexisting game Splatoon 2. I wanted to choose one of my favorite game series, to really give me insight and perspective on it. This includes two paper assignments which are linked down below. One of which is a Bartle type analysis of Splatoon 2. The second, is a mini game design document of the game as if it were my own concept.
Total Thievery
Monopoly Remix
Total Thievery is a modified version of the board game Monopoly. The theme of the game is runaway thieves, trying to get by without getting caught--and worse losing all their money.

A How-To-Play Tutorial on Monopoly
This video shows how Monopoly is played, by going over the rules in detail. It is a very straightforward and easy to understand demonstration of how to play.

Game Pieces
2-4 players
Players will have four pieces to choose from, each having their own perks as well as downsides

House
1x usage
temporary piece, if the player who owns the house piece lands on space, they will not have to pay the price on the space 1x. Afterwards the house piece must be removed and cannot be reused
But if another player steps on the space, they will have to pay the price to you instead of the bank. This can only be used 1x and then must be removed from board and cannot be reused

Hotel
Perminent
permanent piece, if the owner of the piece lands on their own space, they will not have to pay the price, no matter how many times they land on it. However, if another player lands on it, the money will go to the bank and not the owner of the hotel

Bank Robber

Graverobber
The Card Game
Graverobber is a card game I came up with where you have 10 face down cards in front of yourself and 10 in front of the enemy. No one know's which cards are in front of them, nor which card will be picked each turn.Â
The element of surprise is used a lot here as everything is riding on randomly generated outcomes. This furthers when you pick up, say a clover, and your luck: will you be forced to forfeit cards or gain more with the chance to win?
The theme is built around you and the enemy player being "grave robbers" that steal graves, or cards, from the each other's graveyard (the face down cards in front).Â
A little helpful thing I noticed:Â is when you're forced to forfeit down cards, getting rid of "good" cards like clovers, hearts, and spades, as frequently as possible so the enemy has a higher chance of picking up a diamond and such when stealing a card from your, in hand deck.

Setting Up
Each player has 10 graves laid face down in their graveyards
Graverobber Rules Sheet
The Reader-Friendly Guide
Objective
Winning
The objective of the game is to get 7 cards in your hands before the enemy player does. Whoever gets 7 cards first wins.
How to Play
Rules
You will need 52 cards and 2 players. For every turn take a face down card from the enemy's side and keep them in hand.
Keeping Score
The basics
Hearts & Spades cards are +1 into your deck, Diamonds are -2 cards of your in-hand cards into the main deck, Clovers mean steal +1 card from the enemy's in-hand deck, if you get another clover that's another +1, but the 3rd will end the turn. Jokers mean you lose all your in-hand cards into the main deck
